Puppy Classes - Yate

We are excited to announce the launch of our Puppy Classes – new for 2020! These puppy classes will be replacing the Puppy Parties held at our Yate branch. Bradley Stoke will continue to host the parties.

What are the Puppy Classes?

Our Puppy Class programme is designed to to educate owners on how to understand and provide the very best care for their new pet.

The classes will be broken down in to 5 sections. There will be an intial 30 minute 1-2-1 consultation with a nurse, during which the puppy will receive a thorough clinical examination whilst receiving lots of rewards. During this session the nurse will discuss some of the topics that are important to consider when getting a new puppy, such as preventative health treatment, neutering, insurance and our Pet Health Club.

After this initial consultation, there will then be weekly classes held every Wednesday at 7pm for 4 weeks. These sessions will last for 30 minutes each and the owner will receive an in-depth handout of the topics discussed at each class which can then be used for reference. Each puppy will also receive a puppy pack that includes Kong toy, bag of MFV Natures Range Puppy food, poo bags, treats and some pet toothpaste!

The topics covered in these sessions will be as follows:

Week 1 = Socialisation/Habituation
Week 2 = Crate Training/House Training
Week 3 = Puppy Biting/Jumping up
Week 4 = Nutrition/Guarding/Dental Care

Each session will contain a short presentation and discussion on the allocated subject, various different surfaces and sounds for your puppy to experience, and a chance for the owner to examine the puppy using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage ease of this in the future.

To qualify for a place, the puppy must have had their first vaccination and not be any older than 14 weeks at the time of initial consult.

For more information or to book your place now, please give our Yate branch a call on 01454 318016.
