Rowe Vet Group Yate are excited to announce the launch of their brand new Puppy Classes, which will be replacing the previously popular Puppy Parties. The change has come in to place after feedback from attendees stated that several shorter sessions may be more beneficial to the puppies and their owners for both socialisation and retention purposes.
As such, the new and improved Puppy Classes run by our veterinary nurses will consist of 5 separate sessions. The first session will be a 30 minute 1-2-1 consultation with a nurse, where the puppy will receive a thorough clinical examination whilst receiving lots of rewards. During this session the nurse will discuss some of the topics that are important to consider when getting a new puppy, such as preventative health treatment, neutering, insurance and our Pet Health Club.
After this initial consultation, there will then be weekly classes held every Wednesday at 7pm for 4 weeks. These sessions will last for 30 minutes each and the owner will receive an in-depth handout of the topics discussed at each class which can then be used for reference. Each puppy will also receive a puppy pack that includes Kong toy, bag of MFV Natures Range Puppy food, poo bags, treats and some pet toothpaste!
The topics covered in these sessions will be as follows:
Week 1 = Socialisation/Habituation
Week 2 = Crate Training/House Training
Week 3 = Puppy Biting/Jumping up
Week 4 = Nutrition/Guarding/Dental Care
Each session will contain a short presentation and discussion on the allocated subject, various different surfaces and sounds for your puppy to experience, and a chance for the owner to examine the puppy using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage ease of this in the future.
These comprehensive puppy classes are designed to educate the owners on how to understand and provide the very best care for their new pet. We are excited to offer these at an introductory price of only £35.00 for the entire course.
To qualify for a place, the puppy must have had their first vaccination and not be any older than 14 weeks at the time of initial consult.
The first course will begin on the 5th February 2020. For more information or to book your place now, please give us a call on 01454 318016.
