The Equine lecture and demonstration was a great success. It was a beautifully sunny July evening well attended by horse owners from across the whole practice area. Many thanks to Helen Rowe who organised the meeting and to all those who helped to make it a success.

The evening started with a lecture about pre-purchase examination ('Vetting') by Helen our senior equine Vet, where she explained the 5 stages of the examination and what we are looking for in the exam. This was followed by a lecture on equine insurance which explained about the different levels of cover available, their limitations and advantages and then finished with a discussion on loss of use.

After a smashing refreshment break with wine and food (thank you to Tina Hildick-Smith for this) The meeting was then divided in to 5 groups and 5 of our equine vets demonstrated various aspects of the pre-purchase examination.

The practice would like to say a big thank you to all those who attended, it was a great evening which we hope to repeat at some time.
